Using geographic information systems (GIS) to prepare map of the spatial distribution of olive trees cultivars and wild, pests, in the central region of Syria

Abstract


This research was conducted during the period (2019 – 2022) to prepare map of the spatial distribution of olive trees cultivars and wild, and the regions of spread diseases and insects olives tree depended on high of sea middle area of Syria (homes, Hama) based on GIS system. Executed GIS maps have showed clarity in extrapolating and analysing information of the maps of the suitable olive’s varieties in the middle area of Syria is Sourany cultivar in the tow governorates, in addition to Doebli,Safraoy and Mohazm abo steal cultivars, wild olive spread 185m up to 994m sea level in Hama governorates and between 375 m-650m sea level in Homs  governorates . Results showed environmental flexibility of olive wild. The map regions of spread diseases and insects depended on height of sea, showed relation between operation serves (pirning, fertilization, irrigation), daily monitory for early infection spread and (insects, diseases) to avoid spread to another field,
